Lauren recently graduated from Rice University with a degree in psychology and economics. She chose to be an intern so that should could fully engulf herself in the Romanian culture and in the lives of the orphans living there. While in Romania she wants to grown in her relationship with Christ and influence the children by “filling their hearts with joy.”
Jenna Mitchell
Age: 19

Country Serving: Kenya
Jenna currently attends Texas A&M University but decided to spend her summer serving orphans in Kenya. Jenna said she has always felt lead to serve in Africa, making this trip the perfect opportunity for her to follow God’s will. She hopes to be a witness of God’s love as well as witness his work in another country.
Allie Gerlach
Age: 19
Hometown: Midland, Texas
Country Serving: Latvia
As a student at Texas Tech, Allie is putting her studies in social work to good use by serving orphans in Latvia. She was drawn to Latvia because she wanted to experience a culture different from her own and discover how those differences affect the children. Allie has always had a passion for orphans and her goal for this trip is to make a difference, even if it is only with one child.
Gina Garcia
Age: 21
Hometown: Cedar Hill, Texas
Country Serving: Guatemala
Gina is studying psychology at Dallas Baptist University. Her desire for the summer in Guatemala is to express “Christ’s love to the beautiful orphans” through personal relationships and teaching the Gospel. She also hopes to learn how to better serve, no matter where she is.
Marianne Leigh Parrish
Age: 24
Hometown: Greenville, S.C.
Country Serving: Peru
Marianne is a first grade teacher. With summers off work, she is excited to spend her time serving God away from home. She hopes to learn how to share Christ better in a culture very different from her own. Ultimately, she said she wants God to use her “as his hands and feet” while she loves the orphans in Peru.
